The last few months have seen Spotify showcasing some new features e.g.
- Found them First – this allows users to see what bands they caught onto before they gained popularity. It gives the date of when you first started listening to the artists, and what percentage of the first listeners you fall into. Spotify considers the “top 1-15 percent of listeners” as ‘early listeners’ which means you can now consider yourself, objectively, a better music fan.
- Spotify Running – A feature that is designed to provide a soundtrack that perfectly syncs with the users running pace. When the users begin a run, Spotify uses their smartphone’s sensors to determine how fast they are going and picks songs with a matching tempo.
